Mark Kelly VS Blake Masters For AZ Senate 2022 — Who Has Your Vote?
(NRPI.org) – The 2022 midterm elections are crucial in determining if and how the power shifts in Congress. In West America, Arizona, the balance of power in the senate boils down to two major candidates Mark Kelly vs. Black Masters. Republican John McCain previously held the hotly contested seat for 31 years (1987-2018) and is now by Democrat Mark Kelly. Regarded by many as a Republican State, Arizona managed to break the glass ceiling with the election of Mark Kelly in 2020. The election was a historic victory for Arizona, which had its first democratic Senator since 1953. Another evidence of this evident shift to blue is the win of democratic President Joe Biden, marking a first win of a democratic President since 1996. This only shows how indecisive and unpredictable the results can be. Let’s discuss the major candidates in this race, starting with:
Blake Masters(R)
A famous candidate in all regards who is known for his bold while others might argue, controversial position. His controversial opinions and ideology have set him apart from the rest. Blake Matsters is an avid supporter of President Trump. In the wake of the Roe v Wade verdict, Masters identifies as a pro-life candidate and argues his primary opponent uses abortion as a political ploy. His main agenda are handling the wide-open southern border, tackling double-digit inflation, and stopping transgender ideology teaching in schools, among other heartfelt issues.
Mark Kelly(D)
Some term him as a rubber stamp to President Biden’s plan in Arizona. A former astronaut, Mark Kelly is the incumbent Senator. His main agenda and campaign strategy have been putting integrity and trust in the election system, women’s rights, and the protection of democracy, as well as the rights of the people. He is a more reserved candidate. He is known chiefly for his anti-Trump stands and outright disagreement with the 2021 Capitol storming. He has also supported filibuster reform and advocated raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour during his tenure. However, he is noted to have criticized President Joe Biden’s approach to border security. He is a pro-choice candidate, climate change action supporter, and an outspoken advocate of gun control measures.
Also on the race is Libertarian candidate Marc Victor who sees himself as a ‘live and let live’ type of guy. This election, therefore, boils down to issues of economy and, women’s rights, abortion principles. Both candidates couldn’t be more apart, holding firm to their beliefs. The question therefore is who resonates more with the Arizona voter. Whoever you decide to vote for, you must answer this: Republican or Democrat; Arizona needs a leader to impact and lead it to greater heights.
